On 24 July 2026, H.E. Ms. Nipa NIRANNOOT, Ambassador-designate of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Senegal, participated in a virtual meeting with Mr. Diamil FAYE, Special Advisor for Sports to the President of the Republic of Senegal, and Mr. Stephan FOX, Secretary General of the International Federation of Muaythai Associations (IFMA), to discuss the promotion of sports cooperation between Thailand and Senegal, particularly Thailand's support for Senegal in its preparations to host the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games.

Mr. FAYE commended Thailand for its successful experience in hosting numerous international sporting events and identified four priority areas in which Senegal is interested in learning from Thailand to support its preparations for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games: (1) security management and the organisation of major sporting events (2) airport management and logistics systems (3) tourism management and tourist safety and (4) promoting Senegalese wrestling to gain wider international recognition and popularity, following the successful example of Muaythai. Meanwhile, Mr. FOX outlined IFMA's plans to organise activities promoting Muaythai and Thai culture during the Dakar Games, as well as its continued efforts to strengthen the capacity of the Senegal Muaythai Association through knowledge transfer, coach development, and youth programmes in both Dakar and regional areas.

The Ambassador expressed her appreciation to the Special Advisor for his confidence in Thailand's expertise and reaffirmed Thailand's readiness to support Senegal through knowledge-sharing and exchanges between relevant agencies of both countries. She also underscored Thailand's commitment to working closely with IFMA in organising Muaythai-related activities during the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games.
