On 1 September 2026, H.E. Ms. Nipa Nirannoot, Ambassador-Designate of Thailand to Senegal, hosted an afternoon tea at the Residence of the Ambassador to meet with Mr. Diamil Faye, Special Advisor for Sports to the President of the Republic of Senegal, and representatives of the Senegalese police authorities, to discuss Thailand’s support for Senegal’s preparations to host the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games.

The meeting followed an online consultation held on 24 July 2026, during which the Senegalese side expressed its appreciation for Thailand’s expertise and experience in hosting major international sporting events and its interest in learning from Thailand’s best practices.

On this occasion, the Ambassador informed the Senegalese side that relevant Thai authorities had agreed to organise a webinar to exchange Thailand’s best practices in airport management and tourist safety and security. Both sides discussed the proposed training content in detail and agreed to arrange further consultations between relevant counterparts from Thailand and Senegal to develop an effective training programme tailored to Senegal’s needs.
