Ambassador of Thailand to Senegal paid a courtesy call on Minister of Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad

On 1 December 2022, H.E. Mrs. Thippawan Supamitkitja paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mrs. Aïssata Tall Sall, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad, to present the copy of the Letters of Credence upon taking her tenure of office as Ambassador of Thailand to Senegal.

Both sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations between Thailand and Senegal in all areas as follows:
(1) Political cooperation: to continue the momentum of high-level meetings between Thailand and Senegal, both sides agreed to start the discussion on setting up a formal consultation mechanism to discuss issues of common concern, interest, and mutual benefits as well as the high-level visits between the two countries.
(2) Economic Cooperation: both sides agreed to boost the trade value, particularly rice which is the main product that Thailand exports while supporting the arrangement of business matching to further explore potential fields of trade and investment.
(3) Social Cooperation: both sides expressed their readiness to promote cooperation on sustainable development, focusing on agriculture, fisheries and public health, with Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) as the main department to promote the cooperation with relevant Senegalese authorities.

On this occasion, Ambassador of Thailand to Senegal reaffirmed her full commitment to further enhance cooperation with Senegalese authorities, strengthen closer ties between the two countries, as well as support Thailand’s engagement with the African Union under Senegal’s Presidency in order to greatly contribute to the constructive international community in a collective manner.
