On 14 May 2020 Mr. Nipon Petchpornprapas, Ambassador of Thailand, and officials of the Royal Thai Embassy organized a charity activity at Abbaye de Keur Moussa by donating 1,000 KG of Thai rice to Père Abbé Olivier-Marie Sarr, the Abbot of Abbaye de Keur Moussa, in order to help more than 40 priests and staff of the Abbaye as well as local villagers who have been lately affected by the Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic situation. In addition, it is a symbol of friendship and strong relations between the two countries as this year marks the 40^th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Senegal.

The Royal Thai Embassy and the Abbaye de Keur Moussa have had a longstanding relationship since the implementation of the solar dryer plant project in 2016.
