On 5 January 2022, Mrs. Thippawan Supamitkitja, Ambassador of Thailand to Senegal, paid a courtesy call on Mr. Aly Ngouille Ndiaye, Minister of Agriculture, Rural Equipment and Food Sovereignty, at the Ministerial Sphere of Diamniadio to discuss ways to promote development cooperation between Thailand and Senegal, particularly, strengthening food security in Senegal.

Both sides discussed ways to expand upon the success of the Parabola Solar Dome Project in Senegal, located in the vicinity of the Abbaye de Keur Moussa in Thiès. The Parabola Solar Dome is an outcome of development cooperation between Thailand and Senegal which Thailand has provided technical and technological assistance to preserve agricultural produce as well as to support a better quality of life for Senegal local communities.

Furthermore, the two sides expressed their readiness to continue to build on the success story of the said project to other areas of Senegal.
