Royal Thai Embassy in Dakar hosted a reception on the auspicious occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand and Thailand’s Father’s Day, 5 December 2023

The Royal Thai Embassy in Dakar hosted a Reception to celebrate the auspicious occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand and Thailand’s Father’s Day at Hotel Ngor Diarama, Dakar. H.E. Mr. Ousmane DIOP, Ambassador, Director-General, Department of Asia-Pacific and Middle East, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad of the Republic of Senegal, attended the reception as the Guest of Honour and the representative of the Senegalese Government. The reception was attended by 150 guests, including Ambassadors, High Commissioners, representatives of the diplomatic corps and international organisations, non-governmental organisations, Thai association and Thai community in Senegal.

On this occasion, Ms. Pottanee Homjitt, Chargé d'affaires a.i., delivered her remarks in remembrance of H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great for his gracious kindness and throughout his reign legacy, as well as the importance of National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand and Thailand’s Father’s Day. The Chargé d'affaires a.i., also congratulated the amicable relations between Thailand and Senegal, as well as the close cooperation between the two nations, particularly, the success of the development cooperation, namely, the projects that support a more accessible health care for all, underpinning the Universal Health Coverage (UHC). Concurrently, Ambassador DIOP congratulated the cordial ties between Thailand and Senegal and expressed Senegal’s gratefulness for Thailand’s contribution to the public health partnership throughout the years. Ambassador DIOP also expressed Senegal’s wish to further promote the relations of both public and private sectors in order to achieve closer people-to-people contact and for mutual benefits of both countries and peoples.

After the Remarks, The Chargé d'affaires a.i., invited all guests to join her in a toast for good health of H.M. King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phravajiraklaochaoyuhua and H.E. Mr. Macky Sall, President of the Republic of Senegal and the long-lasting friendship, happiness and prosperity between the two countries.

During the reception, the Royal Thai Embassy also showed videos promoting Thailand in various aspects, with focus on Thailand’s soft powers, as well as the achievements of the Embassy in the past year.
