The Royal Thai Embassy in Dakar in cooperation with the Association of Muay Thai in Senegal organized a “Thai Boxing class: Training the Trainers” from 9-13 May 2022 at 3 different sport clubs in Dakar, which are Fight Club, Mantis Club, and Olympic Club. The 5-day training session led by Mr. Ahmed Cheikh Bara Mbacke, the Senegalese Muay Thai instructor from Morocco was participated by more than 150 boxing coaches and Senegalese general public, who are passionate about martial arts.
The Royal Thai Embassy was pleased to see many Senegalese athletes and coaches express their interest in Muay Thai, and hopes to continue to promote Muay Thai classes and establish a network of “Muay Thai coaches” in Senegal, so that the coaches could share these acquired skills to those interested in Muay Thai in their communities and regions across Senegal in the future.
