H.E. Ms. Nipa Nirannoot, Ambassador-Designate of Thailand to Senegal, hosted a dinner reception in honour of a 10-member delegation from Senegal’s National Aquaculture Agency (ANA), led by Mr. Samba KA, Director-General of ANA. The delegation visited Thailand to participate in a practical training programme on the breeding, nursing, and farming of tilapia and catfish from 31 August to 16 September 2026. Representatives from the Department of South Asia, Middle East and African Affairs, the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), and the Faculty of Fisheries, Kasetsart University, also attended the reception.

On the occasion, the Ambassador-Designate formally welcomed the Senegalese participants to Thailand and expressed her appreciation to the Thai agencies and institutions supporting the programme, including Kasetsart University and TICA. The Ambassador-Designate highlighted that the visit of the Senegalese delegation to Thailand reflected the commitment of both countries to further advancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in human resource capacity building and knowledge exchange. The programme aims not only to equip Senegalese participants with practical knowledge and skills in aquaculture, but also to encourage them to apply and share the knowledge gained with their colleagues and relevant institutions in Senegal on a wider scale, with the ultimate aim of generating long-term benefits for the peoples of both countries.
