On 9 September 2026, H.E. Ms. Nipa Nirannoot, Ambassador-Designate of Thailand to Senegal, led a delegation of seven medical doctors and executives from public hospitals across Senegal to participate in hospital management training at Lerdsin Hospital in Bangkok. The training was part of the Hospital Management Capacity Building in Thailand programme, supported by the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) and the Department of Medical Services (DMS).

On this occasion, the Ambassador-Designate and the Senegalese hospital executives were warmly welcomed by the Deputy Director for Health System Development, together with doctors and executives of Lerdsin Hospital. The Senegalese delegation then participated in training and knowledge-sharing sessions on key aspects of hospital management in an urban setting. The sessions covered Lerdsin Hospital’s management and administration, as well as its approaches to sustainable medical workforce development and capacity building. These included residency training, medical student training, and the joint medical education programme between the Department of Medical Services and Rangsit University. The delegation also learned about the development of Centers of Excellence to drive the advancement of specialized medical services, including Lerdsin Hospital’s experience in sports medicine. In addition, the Senegalese doctors and hospital executives undertook a study visit within Lerdsin Hospital, with particular attention to the hospital’s robotic medication dispensing and management innovation.
