On 19 May 2021, the Royal Thai Embassy in Dakar represented by Mr. Jirajett Wongnoraset, Counselor, and Ms. Aimatcha Somsaman, Second Secretary, participated in the Mobile Medical Service Program at the Diourbel Regional Medical Center Heinrich Lübke, which is located about 150 km from Dakar. Between 17-21 May 2021, the medical team from Fann hospital in Dakar, with the support of the Royal Thai Embassy, has provided Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) consultation and treatment services to up to 170 patients as well as performed surgeries for 20-30 patients. The services are free of charge.

This humanitarian mission has also offered an opportunity for the specialized doctors from Fann Hospital to share their knowledge and experiences with the doctors in Diourbel Regional Medical Center Heinrich Lübke, whose ENT Department was just established in January 2021. It is part of a medical assistance series that the Royal Thai Embassy and the Cheikh Anta Diop University have carried out in a number of remote cities throughout Senegal for years as a symbol of the Thai and Senegalese friendship and cooperation.
