On 10 September 2026, H.E. Ms. Nipa Nirannoot, Ambassador-Designate of Thailand to Senegal, led a delegation of medical doctors and executives from public hospitals in various parts of Senegal to a meeting with the executive team of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, at Siriraj Hospital. The meeting was led by Professor Dr. Apichat Asavamongkolkul, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital; Professor Dr. Keerati Charoencholvanich, Head of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery; and Deputy Dean for Corporate Communications and International Relations and a faculty member of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

During the meeting, the Senegalese delegation was briefed on the missions and operations of Siriraj Hospital and had the opportunity to learn about its hospital management practices. Discussions also focused on ways to further promote Thailand–Senegal cooperation in public health and medicine, particularly opportunities for the exchange of medical personnel and internship programmes at Siriraj Hospital.

The activity formed part of the Hospital Management Capacity Building in Thailand programme, supported by the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) and the Department of Medical Services (DMS).
