Promoting Academic Cooperation Between Thailand and Senegal::

On 19 March 2010, H.E. Dr. Itti Ditbanjong, Ambassador of Thailand, accompanied by Mrs. Uraiwan Courtaud, Second Secretary, met and had fruitful discussion with Professor Alioune Dieye, Director of Cooperation Department of the Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar on the promotion of academic cooperation between Thailand and Senegal as well as on closer cooperation between the University and the Royal Thai Embassy.  Professor Dieye, who was supported by the Royal Thai Government to represent Senegal at the Buakaew Roundtable from 1-12 March, expressed his personal appreciation and that of the University for the support and facilities rendered by the Royal Thai Embassy and expressed the willingness of the University to establish link with various Universities in Thailand.  The Ambassador expressed his satisfaction on the success of the Roundtable, particularly in bringing closer together universities of the two countries which would help to promote even better understanding between the two peoples. Impressed with his visit to Thailand as well as the technological advancement of the country, Professor Dieye would work closely with the Royal Thai Embassy to amplify the role of academicians in advancing the existing cooperation between the two countries particularly in agriculture, aquaculture and in the fight against Malaria.
